The Medal Stand: Hibbert makes it 11
Tucker Hibbert added to his lengthy list of snocross accolades over the weekend at the ISOC National Snocross season finale in Lake Geneva, Wisc.
The 33 year-old Driggs native claimed the 11th Professional Snocross Championship of his career, taking first in both of Friday’s qualifying rounds and the final and repeating the same feat Saturday to end the season with 883 points. On Sunday, he took first in both qualifying rounds and 14th in the final. He ended this season – his 18th as a professional snocross racer – winning 27 of his 34 qualifying races and 11 of his 17 finals. He also received Fan Favorite Rider at the year end banquet and his father and crew chief, snocross legend Kirk Hibbert, received Mechanic of the Year. The Hibberts now reside in Minnesota.
“I felt the best I have my whole career this season – fast and consistent with a rock-solid sled,” Tucker Hibbert said in a press release. “We (the team) achieved our goal of winning the championship and I couldn’t be happier about that. I’m really proud of how hard everyone on the team and everyone who supports us worked this past year. What people see at the track is a tiny window into what goes into making a program successful. I’m thankful for the passion and dedication that was put into this championship and will always hold this one close.”
